Ruby Locations

Ruby is a gatherable gemstone found near rocky cliffs in specific AION 2 hunting grounds. For your AION 2 Ruby location search, head to Verteron Fortress Ruins, Destroyed Abyss Gate, Garden of the Illusion God, or Southern Altamia Highland as Elyos; as Asmodian, search Calderon Canyon or Basfelt Ruins. You can also buy Ruby gemstones on the Market or get them from some Duty quests.

Where Should You Look for Ruby on Your Faction's Map?

Start with the hunting grounds for your faction, then search their rocky cliffs. Ruby spawns at fixed locations, but only certain regions contain these gathering resources. Wandering through an unrelated hunting ground gives you no supported place to focus your search.

These names narrow down the regions to search; they are not individual node coordinates. Use the AION 2 interactive map to orient yourself, then focus on cliffsides within a listed area.

The practical check is the resource itself. Reaching the right hunting ground gets you into a Ruby area, but finding a Ruby gathering source is what confirms you have reached a usable spot. An empty location needs a different reading, especially when other players are gathering nearby.

How Do You Gather Ruby Without Wasting a Trip?

Search the rocky cliffs in a listed hunting ground

Look along cliffsides rather than treating the whole region as an equally useful search area. Once you find a Ruby source, you have a concrete gathering spot to work with instead of just a region name.

Gather from the source while it is available

Gathering Ruby yourself is the recommended farming option because each extraction also earns Essence Extraction EXP. Check the gemstone you receive to confirm the result of the extraction. A source supports a maximum of three gathers, so do not assume every node you reach still has all three available.

Move on when a source is absent or used up

Nodes are shared among players and despawn for a time after gathering. If a known spot is empty, another player has likely gathered it recently. Try an alternative spawn point or return later; finding an available source at the next spot lets you resume gathering without waiting on an unknown timer.

At first, a missing node can look like you chose the wrong location. In practice, fixed spawn locations and shared availability are separate things: the location can be right while the resource is temporarily absent. Likewise, getting fewer than three gathers does not necessarily mean the source behaved incorrectly. Other players may already have used some of its gathers.

Choose less crowded areas when you can. Shared sources mean another gatherer can leave you with fewer extractions, so an available node in a quieter area is a steadier target than waiting beside an empty spot.

Should You Gather, Buy, or Check Duty Quests?

Gather Near Cliffs: Recommended for Repeated Farming

Choose gathering when you want Ruby and Essence Extraction EXP from the same activity. The tradeoff is availability: you still need to find a source that other players have not exhausted. If your current area is crowded, change your search area instead of counting on three gathers from every source.

Buy on the Market: Check the Exact Gemstone First

The Market lets you buy Ruby from other players when you are short. Ruby gemstones come in four tiers, so a listing with Ruby in its name is not enough to establish that it is the item you need.

GemstoneRarity
Ruby GemstoneCommon
Fine Ruby GemstoneRare
Pure Ruby GemstoneEpic
Radiant Ruby GemstoneUnique

Match the gemstone name and rarity to your requirement before buying, then compare several listings. Prices vary, and buying the wrong tier or taking the first listing can waste your spending. Your confirmation before purchase is the matching name and rarity on the listing. If buying is your preferred fallback, use the AION 2 Kinah guide to plan the currency side of that choice.

Check Duty Quests: An Extra Opportunity

Some Duty quests award Ruby alongside their other rewards. Check your Duty missions for a Ruby reward before choosing this route; seeing Ruby among the rewards is the useful confirmation. Gathering is more reliable because Ruby is not a reward from every Duty quest. Treat a suitable mission as an extra opportunity rather than assuming any completed Duty will supply gemstones.

What Should You Do After Getting Ruby?

Once you have gathered or bought Ruby, check the gemstone's full name and rarity so you know which tier you obtained. You now have the material you were searching for; gathering also earns Essence Extraction EXP with each extraction.

For your next material search, return to AION 2 materials. If you are continuing world exploration after your Ruby stop, the AION 2 hidden cube guide gives you a separate collectible to look for next.
