How do you get Clash Runes in AION 2?

Complete green quests that reward Clash Rune Chests, or use Nightmare first-clear tokens to buy those chests.

Green quests: take the rewards while progressing

Check the quest reward before committing to a green quest: you want a Clash Rune Chest. Finish the quest, claim the chest, then open it. Confirm that a Clash Rune is in your inventory before equipping it. If you are planning your route around the world, keep the aion 2 interactive map handy.

This route fits normal quest progression. You get the runes as quest rewards rather than spending shop currency on them. Collision runes belong in your rune slots; collecting the chest alone does not fill those slots.

Nightmare: recommended when you want the pair sooner

1. Open Nightmare and complete encounters at level one for their first-clear tokens. Check the First Clear Rewards area when selecting a challenge so you are pursuing a first clear.
2. Open Trade Shop, then Growth. Find Clash Rune Chest (Bound), shown in the shop screenshot below.
3. Exchange your tokens for chests and open them. Equip the resulting runes, then check that both rune slots contain an item.

Start with the low-level clears for this route. Raising the challenge level is a separate decision; you do not need to chase higher levels just to follow the level-one acquisition path.

Where can you get more runes in AION 2?

You can buy more Clash Rune Chests in Nightmare → Trade Shop → Growth or Season → Season Shop → Growth.

Nightmare Trade Shop: earn more currency through clears

The chest is the left-hand item in this screen. Select Clash Rune Chest (Bound), check the currency shown on its card, and confirm the purchase. Open the purchased chest to turn it into a rune.

Nightmare clears give you Phantasmal Fragments, and clearing a new challenge level gives a first-clear bonus. Spend your daily challenge charges before they cap if you want to keep collecting currency for spare runes.

For spending priorities, the embedded video's author recommends buying Daevanion Crystals first and Stigma Shards second before pouring currency into more rune chests. Treat that as a progression choice: filling an empty rune slot and buying another spare solve different problems.

Season Shop: another place to buy spare chests

Open Season, choose Season Shop at the top left, then select Growth. The chest appears at the top left of the item grid. Confirm the item name before buying, then check your inventory for the chest and open it.

This shop also displays Amplify Stone Fragments and Training Arcana. If you are deciding between those systems and another spare rune, read aion 2 amplify stone and aion 2 arcana before spending. The video author favors other progression purchases here before extra rune chests; the chest remains an alternative when you want more runes to work on.

How do you improve Clash Runes without losing your equipped pair?

Keep two runes equipped at +1, and attempt higher enhancements only on spare runes.

The screenshot shows two rune icons at the bottom of the equipment column, each marked +1. That is the setup to preserve. A rune upgrade may look like ordinary gear improvement, but the important difference is the destruction risk after +1.

1. Click a rune and select Improve Item. Bring your first pair to +1, the guaranteed-success enhancement, and confirm the +1 label on each rune.
2. Equip both and leave them there. Check both slots before attempting any higher enhancement.
3. Collect a third rune and enhance that spare. After a successful attempt, check its enhancement level; after a failure, check whether it survived before trying again.
4. Replace an equipped rune only when the spare reaches a higher enhancement level. Confirm that both slots are still filled after the swap.
