In AION 2, Raw Leather is a monster drop, not a gathering node, and the drop chance is very low. For a stack right now, buy it on the Market. To farm it, kill beasts like Ursus, Brax, Karnif and Airon in the hunting grounds below, and add the leather-dropping field bosses (Predator Garsan, Furious Saursus, Bloodfang Pnyn, Blooming Korin, Neikel of the East) to your loop when you're already nearby.
What is Leather used for?
Raw Leather is crafted into Strong Leather, which goes into armor recipes. One farming video says two Raw Leather make one Strong Leather at Armorsmithing level 1, with a bulk recipe later. Because it's slow to collect, decide which gear you want to craft before spending it.

Is it faster to buy or farm?
Buy it if you need it today. Other players regularly list Raw Leather and Strong Leather, so you can buy the exact amount. Prices move because crafters want it, so compare listings first. From a recipe, click Search Market next to the leather to jump to its listings; on the Market you can sort by price per unit.

Farm it if you're in those zones anyway. Ordinary mobs are quick to kill, so a dense pack is the best way to farm without buying; just expect many kills per drop. One farming video puts the chance at roughly 4% per kill in Verteron and Altgard and about twice that in Eltnen and Morheim. Treat those as estimates, not official rates.
Which monsters drop Raw Leather?

| Cave Bat | Scarlet Forest | Verteron |
| Eternal Coradon | Archipelago of Siel's Wings | Chaotic Lower Reshanta |
Hunting grounds that show up for several of these at once are the best farming spots: Kraka Footpath, Southern Tolbas Forest, Ellun River Midstream, Battlescar Mound and Tranein Highland each have three or more leather-dropping families.
Which field bosses drop it?
| Field boss | Location |
|---|---|
| Predator Garsan | Moslan Forest, Altgard |
| Furious Saursus | Night Dew Cave, Verteron |
| Bloodfang Pnyn | Northern Tolbas Forest, Verteron |
| Blooming Korin | Ellun River Midstream, Verteron |
| Neikel of the East | Eastern Cantas Valley, Verteron |
They take longer to spawn and kill, and the drop isn't guaranteed, so fight them with a level 45+ party when you're already in the area rather than waiting at one. The same farming video claims a much higher chance from these bosses than from ordinary mobs, which makes a circuit between them worthwhile once you have a group.
