PvE Build

Gladiator's PvE damage setup depends on keeping your main attacks supplied with mana. The recommended AION 2 Gladiator build centers on Ruinous Blow, Rending Blow, and Overhead Slam, with Lunge Stance, Zikel's Blessing, and Rage Burst as core Stigmas; take Blade Toss in the fourth slot for offensive party utility. Use Keen Strike for mana recovery, and swap that fourth Stigma when staying alive becomes the bigger problem.

Which Stigmas Should You Equip?

Keep the first three slots consistent while you learn the rotation. Their jobs are different, and Rage Burst is especially important because it enables Overhead Slam.

Core StigmaWhat it contributesWhat to check
Lunge StanceCombat Speed, with double-chance benefits through upgradesReview its selected upgrades for the benefits you want
Zikel's BlessingDamage and AccuracyCheck that it is assigned and activates during your opener
Rage BurstEnables Overhead Slam against your targetTest that Overhead Slam becomes usable after Rage Burst

The fourth slot is an encounter choice. These recommendations cover PvE damage and tanking adjustments. If you are still choosing a class, use the AION 2 class tier list before investing further into this setup.

Blade Toss: Recommended for Offensive Utility

Blade Toss lowers the target's Defense by 30% and Incoming Heal by 70% for 10 seconds.

Choose Blade Toss when you want its target Defense reduction to help your party deal damage. Apply it as part of your opener. Check your quick-slot assignment and test that the skill actually fires before trusting a macro to handle it.

Lifestealing Blade: Choose Extra Sustain

Replace Blade Toss with Lifestealing Blade when repeated incoming hits make healing more valuable. You give up Blade Toss's Defense reduction for another way to stay in the fight. Evaluate the swap during those repeated-hit situations, rather than judging it only by an opening damage burst.

Focused Block: Choose More Protection

Take Focused Block when you need a more defensive setup. Keep defensive inputs within easy reach so you can react during mechanics. If that role is what interests you most, the AION 2 Templar build is another class setup to review before committing to Gladiator.

How Do You Run the Damage Rotation?

The opener can look like a fixed combo. Read it as a priority system instead: buffs support your attacks, Rage Burst enables Overhead Slam, and Keen Strike keeps the mana supply moving. You should still stop attacking to move or block when an encounter demands it.

  1. Activate Lunge Stance and Zikel's Blessing. Add Blade Toss if it occupies your flex slot. On a training dummy, confirm that your assigned inputs activate each chosen skill.
  2. Use Ruinous Blow early. It deals damage and grants Prepare for Battle. Check for Prepare for Battle after using it, then reuse Ruinous Blow when available.
  3. Use Rage Burst, then Overhead Slam and Rending Blow as available. Confirm that Rage Burst enables Overhead Slam against your target. Do not keep pressing an unavailable attack while neglecting the rest of your skills.
  4. Keep Keen Strike in the loop. It is your basic attack and an important mana source. Select its mana-recovery upgrade and watch your MP through repeated rotations, rather than checking only the first few attacks. It also supports the Ruinous Blow cooldown-reduction option.
  5. Use Sword Aura Rampage during boss stagger windows. Select its mana-restoration Specialty if you need MP recovery. Watch whether your mana recovers during that window so you can keep attacking afterward.

For open-world farming, Leaping Slam has a cooldown-reset Specialty that helps you move between enemies after kills. Check that you have selected that Specialty before expecting the reset behavior; it serves a different purpose from your sustained boss rotation.

Should You Use a Combat Macro?

The in-game macro system can group skill inputs under one binding. You can bind it to right-click and use left-click Keen Strike alongside it for mana recovery. Set up both the macro and the quick slots: assigning a macro key by itself does not configure your buffs, damage skills, and conditional attacks.

Test on a training dummy. Your useful checks are whether the attacks activate, whether mana lasts over repeated uses, and whether you can interrupt attacking to move or block. Once that works, practise attack weaving to reduce gaps between basic attacks and skill inputs. If faster inputs drain your MP or distract you from mechanics, keep the simpler rotation until it is consistent.

What Should You Upgrade First?

Start your Daevanion investment with nodes for Overhead Slam, Ruinous Blow, and Rending Blow. Then develop damage nodes and the passives that support the loop.

Impact Hit supports Smite, also described as double chance. Experienced Counterstrike rewards a successful block with a damage buff and also benefits your party. When tanking, safe blocks therefore contribute to your offensive support as well as defense. Enmity means threat: it affects which player an enemy focuses on, and Gladiator attacks include threat generation.

At skill level 16, Overhead Slam unlocks a cooldown-removal Specialty. You must select it; reaching the level alone does not remove the cooldown. Check the selected Specialty before testing the attack again. Rending Blow also has a level-16 option that restores mana on critical hits, so revisit both skills as their levels improve.

Which Stats and Arcana Support This Build?

Look for Weapon Damage Boost, Damage Boost, Combat Speed, Critical Hit, and Smite, while keeping Accuracy in mind for harder PvE content. Compare the full bonuses on equipment. A higher displayed score can help with entry requirements, but it does not replace checking the affixes that support your attacks.

Arcana CardsBonuses to Ruinous Blow, Overhead Slam, and Rending Blow, alongside useful set bonuses

For AION 2 Gladiator Arcana choices, compare both the individual skill increases and the set bonuses. The practical target is support for the attacks you repeatedly use. Check the card bonuses before replacing a piece.

What If You Still Run Out of Mana?

Fix sustained mana recovery before stacking more offense. First confirm Keen Strike's mana-recovery upgrade is selected and that you actually use the attack. Then consider Rending Blow's critical-hit recovery option at level 16 and Sword Aura Rampage's recovery Specialty for stagger windows.

If the rotation still empties your MP, review Maximum MP for a larger reserve, MP regeneration and its conditions, and Daevanion mana nodes. You can also craft mana potions through Alchemy → Potions. Test the changes across repeated attacks; a bigger opening reserve alone does not show that your rotation is sustainable.

When tanking, choose your flex Stigma around the damage you are taking and keep attacking between mechanics. Greeding another hit at the cost of moving or blocking undermines the setup's ability to keep fighting. If your group is also reviewing support builds, compare the AION 2 Chanter build and AION 2 Cleric build while deciding who handles each role.

You now have a PvE setup with a clear damage core, a flexible fourth Stigma, and checks for mana and skill activation. Take the tested rotation into your next dungeon, learn its safe attack windows, and return to the AION 2 class tier list if you want to compare your class choice before further investment.
