Use this AION 2 materials hub to decide how to earn and spend Kinah, which spare equipment to sell or extract, and how to find Ruby gemstones. Your choices depend on your level, Market access, and the resources your character needs. Keep bound and unbound Kinah separate when planning purchases. For Ruby, check the gemstone's full name and rarity before buying or counting it toward your needs.
Plan Your Currency Around Progression
While leveling, follow the main mission and clear nearby Sealed Dungeons and Strongholds for Kinah and crafting materials. Green side quests also provide gear, materials, and Kinah. First-clear rewards are one-time gains; repeated dungeon runs instead supply drops you can keep, sell, or extract.
Bound Kinah pays ordinary costs such as upgrades, teleports, NPC purchases, and crafting fees. Buying other players' items requires unbound Kinah. Market access opens at level 45, and trading also requires an active subscription, so check both conditions before relying on player sales or purchases.
Decide What to Keep, Sell, or Extract
Extracting unwanted white or green equipment supplies resources for progression. Selling it to an NPC gives immediate Kinah but uses up gear you could have extracted. For higher-quality equipment, compare the intact item's Market value with the value of its extracted resources before dismantling it.
Odyle gathering can support high-level recipes, Substance Morph, and stronger Wings. Keep what you need for progression before selling surplus. Crafting high-level consumables provides another Market route, but count completed sales as income rather than treating every finished item as money earned.
Gather the Right Ruby Gemstone
Ruby occurs near rocky cliffs in specific hunting grounds. Elyos can search Verteron Fortress Ruins, Destroyed Abyss Gate, Garden of the Illusion God, and Southern Altamia Highland. Asmodian can search Calderon Canyon and Basfelt Ruins.
Gathering Ruby also earns Essence Extraction EXP. Sources are shared among players and allow a maximum of three gathers, so an available node may already have fewer gathers remaining. Move to another spawn point or return later when a source is absent or exhausted.
Ruby gemstones come in Common, Rare, Epic, and Unique tiers: Ruby Gemstone, Fine Ruby Gemstone, Pure Ruby Gemstone, and Radiant Ruby Gemstone. Match the full name and rarity to your requirement when buying on the Market. Some Duty quests also award Ruby; check the listed rewards before relying on a mission for gemstones.
